Fund-Bureau of Corruption Investigation Telegram-channel published some information about the foreign business ventures owned by the Assistant of the ex-Minister of Justice, Marat Beketayev.
Mr. Beketayev’s last official post was that of the Advisor to the Prime-Minister, which post he quit in December 2022. That resignation only became known in February 2023.
Below is literal translation of the Fund-Bureau writing about the topic:
We have managed to identify the personality of his Latvian Assistant. Her name is Sandi Shayanova. She belongs with the group of friends and business partners of the Aslan Musin Family. Aslan Musin was a Head of President’s Administration, in the times of President Nazarbayev. Sandi Shayanova has never been discussed in public sources before.
Being a trusted assistant to the Minister of Justice, she, in 2018-2020, was a shareholder of A Space SIA – legal entity through which Musins invested into real estate in Riga, Latvia.
A Space SIA was incorporated in Latvia on 26 July 2017. Initially, Aslan Musin’s nephew, Anuarbek Musin, held 70% of shares in the company. Sandi owned 30% of shares and was the only member of the Management Board in that company.
The source reports, that the company held shares in four legal entities, the owners of which entities were also associated with the Musin Family.
Besides, in May 2020 to September 2022, A Space SIA owned 20% in another SIA — Dekart Estates, which fact made Sandi Shayanova a beneficial owner of that entity for the period of 6 months.
We can only make guesses from where Mr. Beketayev’s Assistant received money to invest in A Space SIA.
