The banned movement «Democratic Choice of Kazakhstan» is calling for street protests on Republic Day through social media.

Regarding the calls for October 25th, there are appeals made by members of «Democratic Choice of Kazakhstan.» This organization is considered extremist, and its activities within the country are illegal. Naturally, we will not allow any protests organized by them,

stated Igor Lepeha, the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Interior.

However, authorized protests approved by local authorities will go ahead. Law enforcement personnel will be present to maintain public order at these events.

Republic Day is a national holiday, and the Ministry of Interior operates in an enhanced mode during such days, Lepeha added.
