In 2022, Kazakh liquor stores sold 140 million liters of vodka, cognac and white spirit.
Energyprom.kz report it was an absolute record, since they began tracking alcohol consumption in our country.
In 2021, they sold less hard liquor – as much as by 90.4% less.
The absolute leaders in demand are vodka and cognac. As for wine, champagne and beer, our compatriot boozers have shown less interest to those.

Energyprom.kz analysts think, that such an explosive growth in vodka and cognac consumption was caused by relocation to Kazakhstan of Russian nationals, which people traditionally prefer particularly vodka and cognac.
Kazakh alcohol producers picked up on that trend and increase hard liquor production by 98.7%.
Importation of alcohol increased, as well.
Growing consumption and demand, as well as inflation caused sharp price increase. In average, the price for firewater increased by 14.8% throughout the past year.
