Over the past weekend, the city of Satpayev simultaneously celebrated two significant events, namely — the 50th anniversary of the city, and the Miner’s Day. Several events were organized within the framework of that occasion, inclusive of laying flowers at the monument of Kanysh Satpayev and a festive open-air concert.
Miner’s Day is one of the most anticipated holidays of the year for the residents of Satpayev, as the majority of the city’s residents are employed in the «Kazakhmys» enterprises, the main employer in the region. This year, following the tradition, the celebration began with the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument of scientist and academician Kanysh Satpayev, which ceremony was followed by a minute of silence, dedicated to miners, who lost their lives.
Deputy Akim of the Ulytau Oblast, Mr. Ulanbai Usenov and the Chairman of the Board of LLP «Kazakhmys Corporation», Mr. Nurakhmet Nuriev, as well as enterprise managers, veterans, and leading production persons took part in the flower-laying ceremony.
The heroes of the occasion were congratulated by the company’s leadership, noting that they are a significant part of a many-thousand-strong collective that contributes to the corporation’s prosperity every day.
The first half of the year has been successful for the Corporation. Miners fulfilled the plan at 101%, and the enrichment factories processed 15.5 million tons of ore. We are increasing production and improving workers’ living conditions. By implementing advanced technologies, we are creating modern clusters. The company’s leadership duly appreciates the work of every employee, increasing wages and enhancing benefits across the enterprises,
emphasized the representatives of «Kazakhmys.»
The miners and enrichers were wished improved production indicators and demand, with an emphasis on the fact that human resources are the company’s main asset, and therefore their safety is a priority.
On Sunday, a celebratory gathering took place at the Sh. Dildybayev Cultural Center in Satpayev, dedicated to the city’s 50th anniversary. The main guests of this jubilee event were representatives of the workforce from the mining and enrichment enterprises of LLP «Kazakhmys Corporation.»
During the meeting, Mr. Ulanbai Usenov, the Deputy Akim of the region, presented best performing miners with badges «Eñbek ardageri» (Honored Laborer), «Qurmettі kenshі» (Respected Craftsman), and «Kenshі dańqy» (Skillful Worker), as well as honorary certificates from the regional Akim. In his turn, Nurakhmet Nuriev, the Chairman of the Board of LLP «Kazakhmys Corporation,» awarded the best workers of the regional enterprises with industry badges «Kenshі dańqy» and «Eñbek dańqy,» as well as honorary certificates from the company’s leadership.
Dear miners and enrichers, today I sincerely want to congratulate you from this podium, express my deep gratitude for your work, for your loyalty and dedication to your profession. I genuinely wish all of us success, most importantly — accident-free work, health, and well-being! May our cities flourish, develop, grow, attract investments, create new jobs, and may the population headcount continue to increase,

A concert held at the main square of Satpayev made a significant gift to the city, in the course of which concert, idols of the Kazakhstan music performed on scene — Turar Ydyrysis, AYREE, the Orda band, and of course, the popular Russian-speaking rap and hip-hop artist with a multimillion fan base worldwide, born in Kazakhstan, Jah Khalib. For the residents of Satpayev, that became a true surprise; a massive crowd sang along with their favorite artists and were thrilled by the celebration.
