Money goes to oligarchs while people are presented with beautiful numbers. Political analyst Daniyar Ashimbayev expressed his frustration with how officials compete in painting a ‘wonderful present,’ manipulating figures.
In his Telegram channel, Ashimbayev writes:
The recent spat between the government and the National Bank over who has succeeded in combating inflation, as well as yesterday’s responses by the vice-prime minister and ministers before the Majilis, once again highlighted the virtual nature of the executive authority’s work. Officials achieve success only in the realm of number manipulation. The Ministries of Health, Digital Development, and Labor and Social Protection are at the forefront.
Elnur Baisenbayev, the head of the Amanat faction, stated, ‘It is obvious that the well-being of the country’s citizens is decreasing. We are concerned that the current situation is not changing.’
Azat Peruashev, the leader of the Ak Zhol party, noted, ‘Respected government bodies, please sort things out among yourselves and determine what you want to achieve. Otherwise, it resembles the fable of the swan, the crayfish, and the pike. Currently, you are effectively supporting oligarchs in the banking and energy sectors.'»
