An expanded Scientific and Technical Council on Standardization was held in the capital, where projects for national standards of Kazakhstan were discussed, including the approval of projects related to communicative language competencies in Kazakh language proficiency levels.
The session was attended by Kazakh Mazhilis Deputy Kazybek Isa, Deputy Chairman of the Ak Zhol Democratic Party, and Gulnur Ersultanova, a representative of the National Testing Center of Kazakhstan.
The primary goal of these standards is to establish the level of proficiency in the Kazakh language. Subsequently, the National Testing Center of Kazakhstan will conduct examinations and issue the corresponding certificates.
«With the enactment of the ‘Language Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan,’ the developed standards have become extremely necessary as they align work with clear regulations and requirements,» noted Kazakh Mazhilis Deputy Kazybek Isa.
The mandatory testing will apply to the following categories:
Students applying for master’s and doctoral programs.
Employees included in the reserve personnel of the ‘A’ body of the state administrative service.
Applicants competing for the ‘Bolashak’ international scholarship.
Students seeking admission to the Academy of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Teachers at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School.
The developer of these standards is Kazstandart, and the expected implementation date is January 1, 2024.»
