The press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported that, together with the State Social Insurance Fund, payments have been appointed for the children from 17 families of miners who died in the “Kostenko” mine disaster.
It turned out that 21 out of the 46 deceased miners have dependents, who, as previously stated, are entitled to the following types of social support:
State social allowance in the event of the loss of the family breadwinner, funded by the republican budget. The monthly amount will depend on the number of dependents of the deceased, ranging from 37,322 tenge for one child to 111,650 tenge for five children.
This also applies to non-working mothers who are caring for a child up to eight years old.
The amount of social payment in the event of the loss of the breadwinner, funded by the State Social Insurance Fund, is determined based on the income of the deceased and the duration of their participation in the social insurance system.
The payment will vary from 56 to 272 thousand tenge per month.
According to current legislation, payments in the event of the loss of the breadwinner are made until the children reach the age of maturity, or if they are studying full-time at higher education institutions – up to the age of 23. Payments and benefits are appointed exclusively with the presence of a death certificate of the person. This issue is under the control of the relevant ministry.
