The official launch of the pandemic fund grant took place in Astana with the participation of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, according to the Ministry’s press service.
Funds from the pandemic fund will be directed towards addressing the country’s healthcare system challenges in the areas of epidemiological surveillance, border control, laboratory safety, early detection and response, as well as personnel training.
Kazakhstan has become one of the 36 countries in the WHO European Region to receive a country grant of $19 million and a multi-country grant of $27 million for a three-year period.
