Officers of the Anti-Corruption Service in Almaty, in coordination with the city’s prosecutor’s office, have detained the head of the public procurement department of the education administration, reports the Anti-Corruption Service’s press service.
He is suspected of attempting to receive a bribe of more than 12 million tenge from a service provider organizing a camp for orphaned children and those without parental care, as well as students in educational institutions of the metropolis. The bribe was intended to ensure the company’s recognition as the winner of the tender.
It has been established that the supplier was declared the winner of the tender despite lacking the necessary material and labor resources to adequately organize a children’s camp.
