Today, the Economic Diversification Commission convened in the government to discuss the situation surrounding the Ridder Heat and Power Plant.
Since October 2022, a series of accidents occurred at the station, an emergency mode was declared, the heating season was disrupted, and people were freezing in their apartments.
The reason is the unsatisfactory technical condition of the power plant due to the lack of investment from previous owners.
This year, the repair of all 6 boilers of the station began using state funds.
Currently, commissioning work is underway on 3 boilers, and the repair of the remaining 3 boilers is planned to be completed by the end of the year.
Following negotiations with the new owner of the power plant, it was agreed that the investor would pay off all existing company debts and transfer the station to the municipal ownership of the local government.
