Kazakhstan citizens who are not part of the Compulsory Social Health Insurance (CHSI) system may face new sanctions. Previously, the head of the Ministry of Health, Azhar Giniyat, proposed to prohibit them from driving cars and owning weapons. Today, her deputy spoke about new restrictions for the absence of CSHI. He referred to foreign experience.
«We see that in such countries as Germany, the Netherlands, and in Russia, there are corresponding restrictions. In addition, there is a citizen’s responsibility, including financial, meaning fines if a person is not insured or access to certain services, including state ones, is restricted,» said Vice Minister of Health Timur Sultangaziev.
According to the official, an uninsured person will also not be able to receive the necessary medical certificates. The set of services that will have restricted access is still in development.
For now, these are only the department’s proposals, and according to Sultangaziev, they will be «widely» discussed with government agencies and the public.
In Kazakhstan, according to the Ministry of Health, more than 3.3 million people are not covered by CSHI.
