What Do Shukeev and Beavers Have in Common?

In the Turkestan region, money not only turns into sand but also into a void, according to the well-known activist Didar Smagulov:

«Shukeev’s dam for 2.1 billion — even beavers would build better!

Friends, I will continue to amaze you with what and under what pretext money was spent in the Turkestan region, as if from a bottomless barrel.

At the end of 2021, the Construction Department of the Turkestan region completed the «construction of a complex of activities on the Shoshkakol lake system in the city of Turkestan» for a total of 2,178,806,313.20 tenge. The contract was concluded with «Karatas Mining» LLP, as is customary with Shukeev, directly from one source.

The noble goal, of course, was chosen: to create and detain water entering the Shoshkakol lake system by performing a series of comprehensive activities: the construction of a protective-enclosing dam with water regulating structures. Moreover, in the project documentation, they came up with an incredible justification! In addition to the traditional «ensuring the health, well-being, and safety of people,» as well as the «development of ecological tourism,» officials worried about people’s COSMOLOGICAL beliefs.

I didn’t make it up; here’s a quote: «In addition, water-meadow lands have special properties. As part of the cultural heritage of humanity, they are associated with religious and cosmological beliefs, are the basis of many local traditions, represent a a source of aesthetic feelings, satisfy the human need to contemplate wild nature.»

True cosmic sums here.

The dam, 40 km long, should be 2-2.5 meters high, but in some places, it is practically at ground level. In the place of the concrete discharge, it is on par with my 179 cm. Either I grew 2.5 meters, or someone didn’t pour concrete.

According to our information, the dam burst immediately in 2022, and after that, the gates are not opened, there is no water retention. In some places, it is crumbling from simple rainwater.

In the photos, it is clearly visible that there is an indentation from the hooves of grazing cattle in the dam: in other words, water-meadow lands have turned into dry pasture. Greetings to the beavers!

Although the project includes fishing, hunting, and even harvesting reeds for making furniture. Wild imagination. I hope Antikor brings local officials back to reality.»
