The Kegen District Court’s press-service explained verdict rendered on the ex-Commander of the Almaty Province Police Serik Kudebayev.

The court reviewed deliberately illegal crossing of the state border of Kazakhstan, bypassing official checkpoints (Part 1, Article 392, Criminal Code).

The court revealed that defendant Kudebayev had a criminal plan, acting in accordance to which, he, on 15 March 2023, lifted the lower level of the barbed wire, installed to prevent the illegal crossing of the national border, and crossed the border with Kyrgyzstan, bypassing the official checkpoint. Thus, Kudebayev escaped justice and travelled to Turkiye from the Manas Airport of Kyrgyzstan. Later, he was apprehended and extradited to Kazakhstan – the court press-service reported.

Earlier, it was reported that Serik Kudebayev was found guilty of illegal border crossing, and sentenced to 6 months in detention.
