Kazakhstan’s pension fund has been plundered repeatedly, always under the pretext of benevolent intentions, turning it into a tradition. However, no one has any plans to return the money.

This is highlighted by the well-known political analyst Daniyar Ashimbayev on his Telegram channel:

«Why does no one in the government, when discussing the use of pension fund resources, consider the perspective of their returnability? Instead, everyone finds numerous projects to invest in. Why does no one in the Ministry of Health, when talking about the Social Medical Insurance Fund (OSMS) budget, consider the efficiency of using its funds in the interests of the population? Budget replenishment takes precedence, while administrative expenses are ‘very justified.’ Why does the priority in the State Corporation for Economic Development lie in reimbursing investor expenses rather than achieving an optimal budget and quality results? Especially when education and healthcare are actively drawn into this sphere?

Tax reform is increasing fiscal pressure on the economy, but issues of reducing budgetary expenditures are clearly not a priority.

Such an approach to socio-economic policy significantly contributes to the negative public sentiment, which is constantly complained about in the capital.»
