Ilyas Mynzhasarov Launches Petition to Hold Parents Accountable for Refusing Child Vaccinations.

In a bold stance on public health, blogger Ilyas Mynzhasarov has called for the punishment of parents who resist vaccinating their children. Mynzhasarov argues that discriminating against anti-vaxxers is not a violation of human rights but rather a necessary measure for the overall well-being of society. He recently initiated a petition titled «Introduction of Responsibility for Parents Refusing Vaccination for Children» to push for legal consequences for such actions.

«These anti-vaxxers have become a nuisance. It seemed that after the coronavirus pandemic, we could finally breathe a sigh of relief, and anti-vaxxers no longer posed any danger to society. However, it turns out that even though they have faded from the main agenda, their influence and ‘legacy’ persist. Now there is an increase in measles infections in the country, all because of these propagandists of obscurantism and anti-vaxxers, who have a noticeable following in the country. Refusing vaccinations without valid reasons is a crime against society,» Mynzhasarov stated.

In support of his argument, Mynzhasarov referenced a 2021 ruling by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in the case of «Vavricka and Others v. Czech Republic.» The ECHR acknowledged mandatory vaccination as lawful and occasionally necessary in a democratic society. Consequently, children without vaccination certificates for nine diseases, including diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B, and measles, were denied entry to kindergartens. The ECHR ultimately deemed the Czech Republic’s policy lawful and not in violation of the right to respect for family and private life.

Mynzhasarov concluded, «We also need to take measures against influencers who encourage vaccine refusal and parents who expose their own children to unjustified risk due to their ignorance.» The petition aims to garner support for holding individuals accountable for jeopardizing public health by rejecting vaccinations.
