By the order of the head of state, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation is reviewing the provisions of the concept of water resources management development. The document will include comprehensive measures to prevent floods and reduce damage from them.

As for the situation at the reservoirs, it is as follows:

In the Akmola region, two large reservoirs are 100% full. The peak of the flood has passed, inflows have stabilized. Due to the increase in unregulated flow, flooding continues in Atbasar on the Zhabay River.

In the North Kazakhstan region, 2 large reservoirs, in total, are 100% full, the flood continues. Both reservoirs are operating normally, there is no threat of breakthrough.

By this hour, the water level of the Esil River within Petropavlovsk is 1,243 cm, an increase of 103 cm in 24 hours. The situation in the region remains tense. Specialists are conducting water discharge operations.

In the Aktobe region, the average filling of two large reservoirs is 97%. The situation in the region is stable.

In the East Kazakhstan region, the average filling of two large reservoirs is about 80%.

In the Abylai region, the Shulbinsk reservoir is filled to 89%. The flood period continues in the region. Due to the increase in lateral inflows to the Shulbinsk reservoir, environmental discharges are being made. Overall, the reservoirs of the Ertis cascade are operating normally.

In the West Kazakhstan region, the average filling of four large reservoirs is 74%. The water discharged from the Irtysh reservoir has not yet reached the borders of Kazakhstan. Forecasts have not changed. Its arrival is expected on April 16-17.

In the Karaganda region, 3 large reservoirs are 99% full, the peak of the flood in the region has passed. The situation is stable. In the Kostanay region, the average filling of two large reservoirs is 93%, the peak of the flood.
