In Almaty, at the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Margulan, a meeting was held between State Counsellor of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Karin and leading scientists working on the creation of a new academic publication «History of Kazakhstan from ancient times to the present day,» reports Akorda.

The State Counsellor was informed about the progress of work on the multivolume by Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education Darhan Ahmed-Zaki, as well as by the heads and members of the editorial boards of the volumes — the Director-General of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Margulan Akan Ongar, the Chief Researcher of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch. Ch. Valikhanov Bolat Kumekov, the Deputy Director of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch. Ch. Valikhanov Zhomart Zhenis, the Chief Researcher of the Scientific Research Institute for the Study of the Ulus Juchi Aybolat Kushkumbayev, the Director of the Republican Information Center for the Study of Historical Materials at the Institute of Oriental Studies named after R. B. Suleimenov Meruert Abusseitova, the Director-General of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch. Ch. Valikhanov Ziyabek Kabuldinov, the Deputy Director of the Institute of History of the State Burkitbay Ayagan.

At the meeting, Erlan Karin summed up the interim results of the development of the academic multivolume publication on the history of Kazakhstan. Assessing the readiness level of the multivolume, the State Counsellor noted that the implementation of this scientific project requires an exceptionally rational and objective approach, a comprehensive study of all historical facts, materials, and documents, and the incorporation of recent scientific discoveries.

The project involves 5 scientific institutes, more than 250 Kazakhstani and more than 60 foreign historians. The multivolume will include materials from more than 40 archaeological studies, about 300 publications on history, archaeology, and ethnography. As part of the preparation for the multivolume, sections have been held at international forums, a series of scientific conferences, round tables, and methodological seminars, at which the scientific results of the research were tested, and recommendations were received from scholars, experts, and specialists.
