Unchildish Fun

In Karaganda, children were playing their games, when an unknown adult approached them and offered to earn KZT 10 000. Children were supposed to fulfil some of his wishes.  The adult took off his trousers, to make it clear what sort of wishes he wanted them to fulfil.  Shocked, children tried to escape.  The pervert followed them, persuading them to stay. 

“My son came home and told me about an unknown man who made dirty offers and took off his trousers.  I put my shoes on and rushed outdoors to find the bastard and turn him to police.  I had my kids with me.  While outside, I called in police” — Madina, a Karaganda mother reports.

The suspect tried to escape, but Madina’s son followed him at a distance, so not to be seen by the pervert.  That helped police locate the pedophile and arrest him, although he resisted the apprehension. 

In the course of apprehension, the pervert claimed he did not have KZT 10 000, which meant he could not make any dirty offers to kids

He is about to face the court soon. 

Hunting Down the Beast

Another pedophile incident took place recently in Petropavlovsk. A groups students caught site of an adult who was communicating with under-aged.  Children created a fake account in social networks and started correspondence with the suspect on behalf of a fake under-aged girl. The adult invited the girl to a date.

The pervert was a 26-year old individual.  He understood what was going on, besides, the boys were recording him openly on their smartphone cameras.  He tried to run away, but children literally hunted him down and forced him into police station. There, they addressed police officers for help,  but

police officers could not do anything, because there was no Corpus Delicti. Correspondence in social networks was not an evidence

– how can you confirm that the suspect wrote inappropriate messages without knowledge of the age of the victim? But police promised to put the individual’s credential into their potential pedophile database and check him.

How come, that our citizens sometimes have to catch pedophiles? How come sometimes children are impelled to do that? Where is police?

If police do some special raids, they do not mobilize many resources.  Besides, police advise citizens off some initiatives of their own.  We all remember an incident in Satpayev, where locals wanted to lynch a pedophilia suspect.  And they had grounds for that, because a 5-year old girl was found in his flat.  In the course of that incident, victims were pedophile’s neighbors, whose property got demolished by raging crowd.

In 2013, police followed the Occupy – Pedophilai group of pedophile hunters in Kazakhstan.  Our citizens decided to replicate an initiative invented in Russia.

They created a number of face accounts in social networks with random photos of children, taken from foreign web-sites.  And then, they started to wait for pedophiles to show interest to those accounts.  The perverts did not keep them waiting.  When the perverts appeared on radars, the activists found people capable of performing professional video-recording.  The first vide-clips with the pedophile containment by furious activists appeared on the net.  Fearing lynching, police approached those activists and asked to be mindful of law and order. 

All those activists managed to achieve was to compile lists of pedophiles with attached correspondence in social networks. 

That initiative existed for a limited period.  Today, it is gone.  Because police want to do it themselves.  How good police are at apprehending pedophiles is a different question.  As for common people, they show the natural lack of tolerance to child molesters, and that does not always help them to act in cold blood.
