As of September 25, there are more than 6,500 electric vehicles in operation across the republic.

The Emergency Services, after studying international practices regarding the placement of electric vehicles and their charging stations, has noted the need for changes in state norms in the fields of architecture, urban planning, and construction. These changes concern the requirements for the location of charging stations, the number of electric vehicles and charging stations to be placed, minimum distances, etc.

“Following legislative regulation and the incorporation of necessary requirements into state norms regarding the permissibility of placing charging stations for electric vehicles in buildings of various purposes, the Emergency Services will revise fire safety rules to align them with the adopted amendments. Until the corresponding regulatory legal acts are adopted, the use of alternating current charging stations in boxes, parking lots, vehicle parking spaces, production garage premises, under canopies, and on open transport storage areas for charging electric vehicles is prohibited”, the Emergency Services reported.
