Kairat Boranbayev is cooperating with the authorities voluntarily, according to the Financial Monitoring Agency, as he continues to repatriate his assets to the state.

Just yesterday, it was revealed that the businessman had divested himself of a hotel in Astana. However, today, the Financial Monitoring Agency reported that more than $66 million USD, equivalent to over 30 billion Kazakhstani tenge, has been transferred to the Education Infrastructure Support Fund from Boranbayev’s repatriated funds.

According to current legislation, these funds from the Education Infrastructure Support Fund will be directed towards bolstering the education sector, including the construction and renovation of schools and other educational institutions, as well as enhancing the social sphere across the entire nation.
